Extension Assistant Positions
Extension Assistants support the programs developed and implemented in the 83 county or multi-county offices. Assistants are recruited and hired under the direction of the four Research and Extension Center offices with final selection made by the County office.
Basic requirements for Assistants include: Bachelor's degree and excellent communication skills.
Starting salary is $23,915; salary may be adjusted for relevant experience.

When an Extension Assistant position becomes available, it may be advertised in local newspapers, websites, and/or on the UNL employment website. You may contact the appropriate district center for application and information on available positions. Nebraska has four Extension Districts which are served by the following Research and Extension Centers.
- Northeast Research and Extension Center at Norfolk
- Panhandle Research and Extension Center at Scottsbluff
- Southeast Research and Extension Center at Lincoln
- West Central Research and Extension Center at North Platte
