Know how. Know now.

The UNL logos include two formats -- PNG and AI. PNG is a more universal format that can be used for print and Web, much as the TIF and EPS files are. We have tested the PNG format in a variety of commonly used programs (Word, Publisher, InDesign and PowerPoint) and it worked well. Like these formats, it creates a raster file and will lose quality when scaled larger than presented. The AI. (Adobe Illustrator) format also is included. It is a vector-based format that can be scaled smaller or larger without affecting quality, but can't be used in Word, Publisher and some other file types. This format may be best used when providing files to commercial printers and banner and sign makers. These files are intended for placing graphics in documents; you won't be able to open them in most programs.

If you have questions about placement of logos and graphics contact Renee Lanik, Graphic Design Specialist at CIT (rlanik1@unl.edu) or 402-472-2860.
